10 Habits That Will Clear Your Mind And Cultivate Happiness

People say, “Happiness starts from within.”

Nothing could be more true.

You can’t expect anyone or anything to give you the fulfillment you crave. You have to find that for yourself.

But what if tackling your whole emotional well-being feels like too daunting of a task?

What if you just want to feel a little bit more motivated, more energized and all-around happier, right now?

Good news: There are ways you can start improving your happiness by simply making a few adjustments to your environment and the way you interact with it.

Think of the following as your happiness starter pack:
1. Keep a clean living space.

The cleanliness of your living space can have a huge impact on the cleanliness of your mind. When your space is clear, your mind will be clear.

As someone who has spent 18 years defending her messy room in the interest of “creativity,” I feel like I’m allowed to say this.

Having a clean room and a clean mind has increased my creativity and made me a much happier person.
2. Get rid of old stuff and unnecessary nicknacks.

Seriously, do it. I know it’s hard, but you will feel so much freer once it’s done.

You’ll probably realize the only reminders of the past you really need are the memories.

Only keep the things that are either extremely meaningful or add to the character of your living space.

For instance, I’ve done a lot of crappy art projects in my life. They all went into the trash, except for an artfully sloppy watercolor of a sunset I rather like.

It lifts my mood and reminds me of the good old days, when I thought I could be an artist. It also fits with the color scheme of my room.

You get the picture.
3. Don’t spend on things you don’t really want or need.

If you’re spending money on little things you don’t really need, the excitement of buying something nice for yourself is going to lose its meaning.

You’re just going to feel like a cluttered and financially unstable mess. Be frugal, and practice financial conservatism.

That way, when something is worth it, you won’t feel guilty or pinched for indulging.
4. Be selective about the people in your life.

You know those people with whom you can be authentic? Keep them close.

You don’t have to banish the people who don’t fit this bill from your life, but don’t (read more HERE)

The 5 Tibetan Rites of Rejuvenation

It just so happens that one of the quickest and simplest sets of meditative movements and one of the easiest to integrate as your own, is also one of the most powerful. The Five Tibetan Rites of Rejuvenation take about twenty minutes or so depending on how long you meditate, the longer the better of course.
There are many ways to do the Five Tibetans and the movements will benefit you in multiple ways also. As with all meditative movements, part of the reason people are adverse to beginning it – part of the reason we allow our ego to convince us we do not need to do such practices – is because we see that they take time. But remember meditative movements make time, they give you more energy and more efficiency.
The Five Tibetan Rites of Rejuvenation were not designed as beginner yoga, nor are they, but the fact they only take twenty minutes or so makes them totally accessible to our busied mind and active lifestyle that prevents us beginner yogis from beginning. I have described some finer points of each in the following.

5 Tibetan Rites of Rejuvenation

There are 5 movements done 21 times and 1 movement done, most frequently, 3 times, equating to 108 breath coordinated movements. Each of the Tibetans are followed by taking two breaths so as to balance out the energy just moved. The Sixth Tibetan is only performed after you are capable of doing 21 breath coordinated movements of the Five Tibetans and doesn’t have to be included otherwise. One can begin doing any number of each Rite that you feel comfortable with, but try to do an equal number of each.
The first Tibetan is simply spinning clockwise with the arms active to the sides. The first Rite is done clockwise in unison with the sun for the chakras are said to spin clockwise. When held up such activates and opens up the arms, shoulders and neck. Try going excruciatingly slow. The Five Rites strengthen and activate the abdominal area and neck. These areas are considered the most problematic and clogged in terms of energetic and chakra understandings too. The Rites open up the chakras.
Then take two breaths like Superman, that which devoted practice can turn you into. Hands are at your hips. Take a deep breath through your nose and exhale through your mouth with lips shaped in an O like Superman blowing out cold air.
The trick to the second Tibetan is to lift up and set down the legs and neck in unison. Each Tibetan is done in unison with the breath and as with all meditative movement, the inhale is tension/activation and exhale is relaxation/release. So each movement begins with inhale and returns with exhale. The easiest way to count is to count 1 on the inhale and 1 on the exhale, counting each twice so you are less likely to lose track.
A trick with the third Tibetan is to think about using your hands as support and (read more HERE)

8 WAYS TO STRENGTHEN YOUR AURIC FIELD

You are constantly receiving information from your environment, not only through your five senses, but also through your auric field! You are able to perceive when someone is staring at you without seeing them, you can sense how somebody is feeling despite a facade, and you find some people to be energizing while others might be draining.
Your aura is an extension of you. It is the energy field that surrounds your body. Many ancient cultures believe that illness first starts because of a weakness in the aura. Maintaining your auric field cleansed, strong and complete, will bring optimal health and wellbeing to you!
As your aura interacts with your surroundings, it is good for it to be strong, so that it acts as a flexible boundary, as a protective shield, filtering out anything that could harm you, stress you, drain you, or get you sick. Also, when your aura is strong, you feel more you, more connected to your truth and your own wisdom.

o-MEDITATION-facebook1- MEDITATION:
Whether you practice meditation on your own or in a group, in silence or with a guided meditation, you are in for a wonderful healing!
Meditation is one of the most ancient and easiest ways to achieve health, relaxation, and happiness!
2- REIKI ATTUNEMENT: Reiki Attunements strengthen and expand the auric field. It is said that auras normally expand ten or twelve inches from the body, but after reiki Attunements, it can expand  up to nine feet. There is tremendous empowerment in learning how to heal yourself! Your inner knowing, intuition and inner strength will dramatically increase.
Healthy-Foods3- FITNESS AND HEALTHY HABITS: Exercising in a park, hiking enjoying the fresh air, practicing breathing exercises under the sun, connecting with the elements such as in stepping on grass barefoot…
these are wonderful ways to strengthen your energy field!  Martial Arts are also a path towards empowerment.  Thanks to Martial Arts I could pursue my Healing Arts and Spiritual path without feeling ungrounded.  It certainly gave me strong roots!

Why It’s Important To Understand Your Dark Side

13
When you were little, were you afraid of the dark? Most of us were. And I doubt we ever thought to question this fear. We were almost naturally taught to be afraid of the dark, because the dark is full of unknown things that might hurt us.
But what usually happened when you turned the light on? You learned the unknown things were not so scary. And they were not so unknown. They were just part of the environment.
We learned to associate darkness with scary and unknown, and we learned it’s better not to speak with our dark thoughts and emotions. Turning the light on our emotional shadow is a lot more challenging than flicking a physical light switch on. So we avoid it. Superficiality is easier. But this darkness of our soul has a life of its own which thrives, whether or not we choose to acknowledge it.  It’s there, and it’s powerful.

Understanding Darkness

This fear of our emotional complexity grew as we grew, and with time became our shadow. It’s a hidden part in us that influences our choices more often than we are aware.
In truth, much effort goes into repressing and hiding it from ourselves and others. It’s our dark side. The parts we are ashamed and afraid to show. But through denial, we fail to see that in the obscurity of darkness also lay our strengths.
For reasons originating in the past, we have decided to negate and hide this dark side without exploring it further. And so in return it keeps us distant from truly expressing ourselves.
In many ways, hiding our shadow can be considered the highest form of betrayal. By concealing this part of us, we are saying we don’t deserve to show our complete selves, thereby betraying ourselves. In return, secrecy, manipulation, and pretending take over large parts of our lives from fear of being ‘exposed’ and rejected for the part of ourself we are hiding.
As mentioned, our shadow can show itself as weakness or strength. Becoming aware of our complete self allows us an opportunity for expressing strength.  Ignoring these qualities, however, will always produce a damaging result.
The more we repress these dark corners of our being, the more we... (read more HERE)

7 Reasons Your Break-up Is A Beautiful Thing

Watch for big problems. They disguise big opportunities.” ~Ritu Ghatourey
After many years of being the “dumper” in the relationship, I then spent many years being the “dumpee.”
Even after I had worked through all of that karma that I had instilled upon myself, when it came time for my last break-up, it was finally a mutual decision. Still, it left me feeling lost and incomplete.
I had never felt happier with any other man, and at the same time, I knew I deserved better. We both loved each other so much, but we found ourselves growing apart.
It took a long time and a lot of healing in order to begin to function again, and to fill my life with love again. Except this time, the love came in a different form. It came in the form of loving myself.
Along the way, I learned that a break-up can be a beautiful thing. Here’s why:

1. You get space to analyze what went wrong.

Without your partner around, you can look at the relationship as a whole.
Notice how you contributed to it, which can be difficult to see at first. For example, maybe you got angrybecause he stopped calling as frequently, and you let him know it. And when he finally did call, perhaps you expressed your anger again rather than praising him for calling.
Maybe she became more distant, and yet even with this factor, there is room for improvement with communication on both sides.
After some time, look to see how you can improve yourself or make wiser decisions the next time around.

2. It gives you space to fully heal you.

Normally we spend our times healing from relationships we have had with specific people. But if we take the time to look at the bigger picture, we can look to see if there’s a certain pattern that keeps repeating.
Are you dating women who remind you of your ex? Have you given yourself enough time to get over the last guy? Do you tend to date a certain type of person?
Whatever it is, we now have an opportunity to fully heal that wounded and sometimes buried part of ourselves that’s causing the repeating behavior (or repeating bad boy), so that we enter the next relationship more whole and happy.

3. It gives you time to take up a new hobby.

I know there is something you’ve been yearning to try. Maybe you’ve thought about it every day for three years, or maybe you have forgotten about it. Remember it.
What is it? Is it kickboxing? Cooking? Learning Italian? Finally having the time to read more? Play poker? Exploring your city? Exploring nature? Learn astrophysics? What is it? Give yourself the time to do that.

4. It creates space for more risk-taking.

Without having to worry about your partner’s reaction to something (read more HERE)

Carl G. Jung Archetypes – The 4 Stages Of Life

“Thoroughly unprepared, we take the step into the afternoon of life. Worse still, we take this step with the false presupposition that our truths and our ideals will serve us as hitherto. But we cannot live the afternoon of life according to the program of life’s morning, for what was great in the morning will be little at evening and what in the morning was true, at evening will have become a lie.” Carl Gustav Jung

According to the Swiss psychologist, Carl Gustav Jung, there are 4 archetypes, 4 stages that we go through during our lifetime, and these stages are:
1. The ATHLETE Stage

At this stage, we are mostly preoccupied with our looks, with the way our body looks. During this stage we might stay for hours looking and admiring our reflection in the mirror. Our body, our looks are the most important thing to us, nothing else.
2. The WARRIOR stage

During this period, this stage, our main concern is to go out there and conquer the world, to do our best, be the best and get the very best, to do what warriors do, and act like warriors act. This is a stage when we continually think of ways to get more than everybody else, a stage of comparison, of defeating those around so we can feel better because we have achieved more, because we are the warriors, the brave ones.
3. The STATEMENT stage

At this time, this stage in your life, you realize what you have achieved so far is not enough for you to feel fulfilled, to be happy… you are now looking for ways to make a difference in the world, for ways to serve those around you. You are now preoccupied with (read more HERE)
