10 Habits That Will Clear Your Mind And Cultivate Happiness

Image
People say, “Happiness starts from within.”

Nothing could be more true.

You can’t expect anyone or anything to give you the fulfillment you crave. You have to find that for yourself.

But what if tackling your whole emotional well-being feels like too daunting of a task?

What if you just want to feel a little bit more motivated, more energized and all-around happier, right now?

Good news: There are ways you can start improving your happiness by simply making a few adjustments to your environment and the way you interact with it.

Think of the following as your happiness starter pack:
1. Keep a clean living space.

The cleanliness of your living space can have a huge impact on the cleanliness of your mind. When your space is clear, your mind will be clear.

As someone who has spent 18 years defending her messy room in the interest of “creativity,” I feel like I’m allowed to say this.

Having a clean room and a clean mind has increased my creativity and made me a much happier person.
2. Get rid of old …

The 5 Tibetan Rites of Rejuvenation

Image
It just so happens that one of the quickest and simplest sets of meditative movements and one of the easiest to integrate as your own, is also one of the most powerful. The Five Tibetan Rites of Rejuvenation take about twenty minutes or so depending on how long you meditate, the longer the better of course. There are many ways to do the Five Tibetans and the movements will benefit you in multiple ways also. As with all meditative movements, part of the reason people are adverse to beginning it – part of the reason we allow our ego to convince us we do not need to do such practices – is because we see that they take time. But remember meditative movements make time, they give you more energy and more efficiency. The Five Tibetan Rites of Rejuvenation were not designed as beginner yoga, nor are they, but the fact they only take twenty minutes or so makes them totally accessible to our busied mind and active lifestyle that prevents us beginner yogis from beginning. I have described some …

8 WAYS TO STRENGTHEN YOUR AURIC FIELD

Image
You are constantly receiving information from your environment, not only through your five senses, but also through your auric field! You are able to perceive when someone is staring at you without seeing them, you can sense how somebody is feeling despite a facade, and you find some people to be energizing while others might be draining. Your aura is an extension of you. It is the energy field that surrounds your body. Many ancient cultures believe that illness first starts because of a weakness in the aura. Maintaining your auric field cleansed, strong and complete, will bring optimal health and wellbeing to you! As your aura interacts with your surroundings, it is good for it to be strong, so that it acts as a flexible boundary, as a protective shield, filtering out anything that could harm you, stress you, drain you, or get you sick. Also, when your aura is strong, you feel more you, more connected to your truth and your own wisdom.

Why It’s Important To Understand Your Dark Side

When you were little, were you afraid of the dark? Most of us were. And I doubt we ever thought to question this fear. We were almost naturally taught to be afraid of the dark, because the dark is full of unknown things that might hurt us. But what usually happened when you turned the light on? You learned the unknown things were not so scary. And they were not so unknown. They were just part of the environment. We learned to associate darkness with scary and unknown, and we learned it’s better not to speak with our dark thoughts and emotions. Turning the light on our emotional shadow is a lot more challenging than flicking a physical light switch on. So we avoid it. Superficiality is easier. But this darkness of our soul has a life of its own which thrives, whether or not we choose to acknowledge it.  It’s there, and it’s powerful. Understanding Darkness This fear of our emotional complexity grew as we grew, and with time became our shadow. It’s a hidden part in us that influences ou…

7 Reasons Your Break-up Is A Beautiful Thing

Image
“Watch for big problems. They disguise big opportunities.” ~Ritu Ghatourey After many years of being the “dumper” in the relationship, I then spent many years being the “dumpee.” Even after I had worked through all of that karma that I had instilled upon myself, when it came time for my last break-up, it was finally a mutual decision. Still, it left me feeling lost and incomplete. I had never felt happier with any other man, and at the same time, I knew I deserved better. We both loved each other so much, but we found ourselves growing apart. It took a long time and a lot of healing in order to begin to function again, and to fill my life with love again. Except this time, the love came in a different form. It came in the form of loving myself. Along the way, I learned that a break-up can be a beautiful thing. Here’s why: 1. You get space to analyze what went wrong. Without your partner around, you can look at the relationship as a whole. Notice how you contributed to it, which can be …

Carl G. Jung Archetypes – The 4 Stages Of Life

Image
“Thoroughly unprepared, we take the step into the afternoon of life. Worse still, we take this step with the false presupposition that our truths and our ideals will serve us as hitherto. But we cannot live the afternoon of life according to the program of life’s morning, for what was great in the morning will be little at evening and what in the morning was true, at evening will have become a lie.” Carl Gustav Jung

According to the Swiss psychologist, Carl Gustav Jung, there are 4 archetypes, 4 stages that we go through during our lifetime, and these stages are:
1. The ATHLETE Stage

At this stage, we are mostly preoccupied with our looks, with the way our body looks. During this stage we might stay for hours looking and admiring our reflection in the mirror. Our body, our looks are the most important thing to us, nothing else.
2. The WARRIOR stage

During this period, this stage, our main concern is to go out there and conquer the world, to do our best, be the best and get the very b…

The Psychology of Delusions

Image
A delusion is a fixed, relatively immutable, persistent, false belief with no basis in reality. Source: Piotr Marcinski/Shutterstock We talk often about "deluded" people: “The person on the talent show is clearly deluded about their lack of singing ability.” “That politician has delusions of grandeur.” “She's deluded if she expects to be promoted.” "You have to be deluded to believe anything salesmen say.” A delusion is a belief held by an individual or group that is demonstrably false, patently untrue, impossible, fanciful, or self-deceptive. A person with delusions, however, often has complete certainty and conviction about their delusory beliefs. They resist arguments and evidence that they are wrong.  People have illusions about smell (olfactory), taste (gustatory), temperature (thermoceptive), and touch (tactile). They may experience highly disgusting or very pleasant or unusual smells when meeting a particular person. They may find ordinary foods (oranges, cho…

18 Life Changing Lessons To Learn From Socrates

Image
If I have learned something from Socrates is that you cannot teach people anything; you can only make them think. You can only draw out of them the wisdom which is latent within them. And by doing so, you help open their eyes, making them realize that they were born with wings and that they can fly, as high as they want to fly…

Anyway, I gathered what I thought to be some of Socrates best quotes and compiled them into 18 life changing lessons that you might want to learn. Here they are:
1. True wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.

“I am the wisest man alive, for I know one thing, and that is that I know nothing.” ~ Socrates

“To know, is to know that you know nothing. That is the meaning of true knowledge.” ~ Socrates

“I know that I am intelligent, because I know that I know nothing.” ~ Socrates

“True wisdom comes to each of us when we realize how little we understand about life, ourselves, and the world around us.” ~ Socrates
2. Be as you wish to seem.

“The shortest and surest way …

5 Simple Strategies for Beating Procrastination Once and for All

Among the hardest challenges we face as entrepreneurs is our reluctance to take the first step in a project, then dragging things out too long. Simple lack of motivation can leave us stuck, seemingly unable to get started on the projects we set out to do, let alone have them finished and shipped. Procrastination is familiar to all of us. During my 10 years as an entrepreneur, the past three working from a laptop while traveling the world with my family, I have come up with five simple strategies to stay on task and do the work needed to grow my business. 1. Do the one thing. One of the great causes of procrastination is that large tasks appear overwhelming. All large tasks can be broken down to smaller, more manageable pieces and then focused on one at a time. As Gary Keller said in his book The One Thing, "It is those who concentrate on but one thing at a time who advance in this world." We need to break down all of our goals and projects into smaller chunks. This is how w…

The Mind Blowing Effects of Mass Meditation

Image
The Global Consciousness Project (GCP) is one of the most fascinating, revolutionary and useful research, carried out in the world today. Its potential to improve the quality of our life is infinite. The scientific method being its only hindrance – to prove beyond reasonable doubt that we are all one. GCP is the brainchild of Roger D. Nelson, a professor at Princeton University who holds a PhD in Experimental Cognitive Psychology. He has the distinction of being the first scientist to find a way of measuring with mathematical models what ancient spiritual traditions have always claimed: we are all one. Nelson has devised a way to measure the field of global consciousness, a field that unites us, that reveals that we are the cells of a single body: humanity. The scientific name given to this phenomenon is Electrogaiagram (EGG). It is measured through a network of one hundred computers in many different parts of the world that operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, emitting ones and z…

Have You Ever Woken Up at Night Paralyzed?

Image
How many of you have at one time or another woken up unable to speak or move? If you have, you are not alone. The classic definition for this phenomenon is called sleep paralysis. It may last a few seconds, several moments, or even longer, and usually occurs right before you are about to fall asleep or wake up. Many people report feeling a “presence” that is often described as malevolent, threatening, or evil, and usually experience a tremendous amount of terror. The presence is usually seen, felt, and even heard. People also report unique experiences like the sensation of floating or being outside the body. They believe the phenomenon to be an extremely spiritual one. In the modern medical world, these experiences are defined as hypnagogic and hypnopompic hallucinations, which is often the explanation when conventional modern views of spiritual experience are combined with medical ideas that label direct spiritual experiences as psycho-pathological. It is well understood that sleep …
